Our Work

The kinds of lawn care, landscaping, and tree work we handle across South Charlotte and nearby towns.

The photos below are representative examples of the kinds of work we do. Photos from our own jobs will be added here soon.

Lawns: mowing, edging, and trimming

The weekly visit is the core of what we do. Grass gets cut at the right height for its type, which for fescue means three and a half to four inches and higher in July and August. Edges along the driveway, sidewalk, and curb get cut every visit, the string trimmer handles fence lines, mailboxes, and the AC unit, and every hard surface is blown clean before we leave. See our lawn care page for how a season works.

Beds: mulch, pine straw, and planting

Beds are where a yard either looks kept or looks tired. A bed job starts with pulling weeds and clearing debris, then a fresh edge is cut so the grass stops creeping in, and hardwood mulch or long-leaf pine straw goes down at an even depth. Pine straw suits shady, wooded lots and stays put on slopes. Mulch looks more finished along the foundation. More on mulch and pine straw and landscaping.

Shrubs and trees

Foundation shrubs get shaped back below the windows so they look full, not scalped, and crape myrtles are thinned from the inside instead of topped. For trees, we cut limbs back off roofs and gutters, raise low branches over driveways, clear dead wood, and take out small trees crowding a bed or fence line. Brush is chipped or hauled off. See shrub trimming and tree service.

Cleanups

Spring and fall cleanups clear leaves out of the lawn and beds, pick up sticks and storm debris, and get the edges back. One-time cleanups are common for rentals between tenants, houses going on the market, and yards that picked up an HOA letter. Details are on our seasonal cleanup page.

Where this work happens

The yards change from town to town. In Cotswold and Myers Park, it is shade under a heavy oak canopy. In Matthews, it is a mix of older lots with big trees and newer builds on red clay. In Indian Trail, it is builder sod, thin builder beds, and HOA standards. In Mint Hill, it is bigger lots that back up to woods. We plan each job around the yard in front of us, not a one-size setting for every stop on the route.
